Baltimore, MD. - Students from the Frederick School of Cosmetology were asked to provide hair and makeup support for Piranha Pictures next independent horror film (to be named).
On location at the Governor's House in Downtown Baltimore, the students prepared Victorian era hair and makeup styles for the actors. Creative direction was led by Betta Cassatt, Costume Designer and Director Eric Thornett.
The Governor's House was a perfect location for the ballroom dance scene for this Victorian era horror film. The rich preserved details of the former mansion provided the perfect background for the scenes the film crew shot that day.

Learning First Aid Basics in the Salon |
Thanks to Frederick City's United Fire Company #3, the students of Frederick School of Cosmetology learned basic first aid tips.
Emergencies can happen at any place and at any time. This interactive hands on experience allowed FSC students to learn value tips that could save a person's life. Members of the fire company provided basic first aid instruction to the students in the event of a first aid emergency at a salon. The techniques learned by the students are important steps to take until first responders arrive. The Frederick School of Cosmetology would like to thank United for their time and efforts. This was truly a valuable community strengthening activity. |

Make Up Artist Guest Speaker |
FSC recently had the privilege of welcoming Chantel Miller as a guest speaker. Ms. Miller is a working make-up artist and has done make-up for celebrities such as Paula Abdul, Faith Evans and Enrique Englesias. She has also worked on the Faces for Ralph Lauren campaign as well as Fashion Week in Paris and New York. If you recognize Ms. Miller it could be because you've seen her on the show Fashion Emergency helping with a makeover.
While Ms. Miller visited FSC she talked to the students about her career, how she arrived there and what to expect from it. She also demonstrated different make-up looks on a few of the students. Ms. Miller kept the students enthralled in what she was doing and showed them yet another career path once they graduate from FSC. |
